The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Merry Christmas!  I LOVE this time of year!  I love the twinkle lights, the goodies, the music, the generosity; there is truly nothing better than Christmas time.  This year has been especially great because it is me and Jeff's first Christmas together (as a married couple.)  He has been thoroughly supportive of my insatiable need to craft and bake, as well as constantly decorate or purchase gifts.  I just hope he can survive another 50 years of this. :)

So, in honor of our first Christmas, I took some pictures of a few of our "firsts".

Our 'first' apartment at Christmas time!
Our 'first' Christmas tree!
Jeff hanging the 'first' star for the 'first' time!

This isn't a first I suppose. . .but I like the close view of the tree. :)
Growing up, Jeff's family had the tradition of lying under the tree and eating candy canes when you finish decorating the tree.  We decided to continue this tradition!  So we laid under the tree and sharpened our candy canes until it was sharp enough to poke our eyes out.  I guess the boys would use them as weapons.  Jeff wanted this to be a part of the tradition too, but there is no way I would let him poke me. :) It was so fun to turn off the lights and lay under the beautiful tree.

Our 'first' time lying under the tree!
It is going to be a great first Christmas!

Halloween ~ Despicable Me!

It has been a while since I last posted.  I lost the cord that loads the photos from my camera to the computer!  But. . . I found it stashed away in my sock drawer, so I now have a ton of blogging to do! :)
I know it's the Christmas season, but I have to share some pictures and stories from Halloween.  This was just too great not to share.

My family started a tradition that every year (for our extended family Halloween party) we would all dress as characters from a certain movie.  This was the BEST decision! Last year we dressed as characters from Alice in Wonderland, and it was perfect.  The best part was that my parents dressed as  Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum.  If you never saw the pictures:

hahahaha!  Ahhh. . . man. . . it's priceless.

So this year we decided to dress as characters from Despicable Me, arguably my favorite cartoon ever!  The costumes turned out great, and with the two new additions to the family (my husband Jeff and Chelsea's fiance Alex), we covered every major character. :)

The whole group! L-R: Me, Margo; Rylee, Agnes; Chelsea, Edith; Mom, Gru's mom; Dallin, Minion; Dad, Gru; Andrew, Minion; Alex, Dr. Nefario; Jeff, Vector
Chelsea and Alex - Edith and Dr. Nefario
My mom - Gru's mom - hahaha The nose and chin kill me!
My parents - Gru and his mom :)
I just can't get enough of these two!
Cute little Dallin :)  a perfect Minion!
Jeff and I - Margo and Vector (Jeff was the PERFECT Vector! He kept walking around saying, "Ohhh yeahhh!!"

Andrew and Rylee ran away before I could get any great pictures of them, but it was a great Halloween!  I can't wait to see what we come up with next year. :)
